What this is
The wells, surveys, pipelines and base map layers for a county bundled together — the whole GIS picture in one download.
What you can do with it
Take everything RRC maps for a county in a single request instead of four.
Gotchas
Every RRC map layer is published in the Geographic coordinate system in decimal degrees on the NAD27 datum — EPSG:4267. That is not what web mapping expects. Overlaying it on anything modern without reprojecting to WGS 84 puts Texas wells roughly 100 metres from where they belong.
Files are packaged county by county under RRC's 8.3 naming convention, so a statewide layer means merging 254 shapefiles.
EZRRC does not parse this file. Upstream has not built a reader for it yet, so the catalog documents it and links to the Commission's own copy rather than pretending to serve rows it does not have.
